A number of leading apparel and footwear brands are adopting responsible forest product purchasing policies, declaring they will no longer make products derived from “sources that contribute to the loss of ancient and endangered forests or rights taken from Indigenous people and local communities.”

Regions that are at risk due to the sourcing of popular fibres such as rayon include forests in Canada’s west coast, the Amazon and Indonesia.
