Kevin Coon, head of Baker McKenzie’s Toronto office, has been elected the new Chair of the Firm’s global Policy Committee.

Kevin will serve a three-year term as Chair of the Committee, which is responsible for working with Baker McKenzie’s Executive Committee on policy matters and planning the strategic direction of the Firm across its 77 offices in 47 countries.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with the confidence of my colleagues to take on this role,” Kevin said. “And I look forward to working with Paul Rawlinson, our new global chair of the Executive Committee, and all my colleagues to help advance our strategic focus to be the global law firm of choice through an innovative, collaborative and integrated approach to our client needs.”

Having served as Toronto’s Managing Partner since 2012, Kevin adds this new role to an impressive list of local and international honours. Most recently, he was certified as a Specialist in Labour Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada in June, 2016 and he currently contributes his expertise as an active member of the United Nations Global Compact Advisory Group on Supply Chain Sustainability.
