Holi is a spring festival in India and Nepal dedicated to the god of pleasure, also known as the festival of colours or “the festival of love.” Kids and adults come out of their houses and paint each other with bright shades of gulal (coloured powder). In the tradition of Holi, feelings of hardship and conflicts disappear. On this day people abandon their worries and embrace new changes for a better way of living. Gaps between age, gender and status are thrown aside. People stop differentiating between each other and instead come together as a community to “play Holi” in celebration of all life’s blessings.

On March 21st the Toronto office D&I Committee hosted a celebration of Holi with an afternoon of collaborative art, food, drinks and fun. See the gallery below for pictures of the celebration.
